About

I’m John O’Loughlin, an amateur photographer based in County Kildare, Ireland.

While I was always appreciative of good photography I didn’t take it up myself seriously until four or five years ago when my family were growing up. My main interests are landscape and nature but I’m always willing to try something new.

A few years ago I got together with some other local photographers to help form South Kildare  Photography Club and have found the meetings and the visiting speakers a great source of support and inspiration.

My first “proper” camera was a Fuji bridge model which despite its limitations served me well, when I moved on to a DSLR I went to the Olympus stable, I’ve had three of their models since (E500, E510 and currently an E30), I’ve always been happy with them and currently have quite a collection of lenses and other gear for them.
